Rachel Irvine

PhD Candidate, School of BEES, UNSW Sydney

Rachel is working with the BSRG on a PhD focused on evaluating the benefits of the smartphone app ‘Rip Eye’ to detect rip currents and to educate beach users. Before commencing a PhD, Rachel completed her Masters at the University of Otago, with her thesis assessing beach users ability to identify rip currents in photographs and videos.
